T-minus 2 days till knee surgery.

Truth be told I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared. My thoughts turn to all the things I can do today that I take for granted that in just 48 hours won’t be possible. Walking upstairs because Simone is in the downstairs bathroom? Not anymore. Run to Starbucks to harass @ameilus and crew? Not for a while.

But seriously. How much pain will I be in afterward? Will I be able to work remotely on contracts? Will I be able to teach still?

Some of my clients and friends have been wondering what’s going on with my old consultancy identity, MuseTown Productions. Good question.

I’m excited to announce that I have granted the MuseTown identity in it’s whole to a new non-profit venture that I am involved with. We’re looking to provide creative types with resources to not only self promote, but to get peer and industry feedback and reviews on their works. Since I originally established MuseTown to provide self promotion services through the web for musicians, the name and identity seemed to fit the new endeavor well. I am really excited about this new adventure, and happy that the NPO’s founders unanimously decided to use the MuseTown identity for this new venture.

Stay tuned here for more developments on the new MuseTown and look to our web site at http://www.musetown.com soon!

Quick shout out to my old friends in Alchemilla (@alchemilla) for their involvement with Blood Rose Rising, a new style of theatrical event that I can not do justice in explaining. So here’s a excerpt from their site:

Blood Rose Rising is a radically new idea in theatrical entertainment. It’s a live-action, supernatural series. Each episode is a complete entertainment experience in itself, but with developing characters and a story arc that progresses from episode to episode toward a thrilling seasonal climax. It’s a full evening out – the show takes place in a dynamic night club environment, with live music, magic, food, drink, and a vibrant party atmosphere.

Blood Rose Rising will open with its Pilot Episode, “Immaterial Girl” at the new Davis Square Theater, on February 17th, 2012, in partnership with Saloon, the vibrant new bar right in the same building, which will be providing the food and beverage service. With cast members, Calvin Braxton, Andrew Cromartie,Poornima Kirby, Casey Preston, Aimee Rose Ranger, Dakota Shepard, Victor Shopov and Robert St. Laurence, and live music by local bands including indy sensation Alchemilla, it promises many evenings of vivid, high-powered entertainment. New episodes will follow every month or so, so you can keep coming back for more!

Created by Ben Evett, and co-written by local Boston phenom Steve Barkhimer, the show is a romantic ghost story that explores our longing for connection with life and control over death, and the mysterious triangle that exists between spirituality, science and illusion. But it’s not all darkness and metaphysics. It’s an adventure story – wild, witty, shocking, and just plain fun.

Can’t wait to go check this out. You should too!
